12 years of Music
I began playing music in 2013 when I joined my elementary school's string orchestra, where I played the double bass. I played double bass consistently throughout my middle-school and high-school careers, earning chairs in my local TMEA All-Region orchestras. These spots were highly competitive, and I managed to secure a spot 5 out of 6 years that I auditioned. I also competed in State Solo and Ensemble competitions, where I played individual pieces from memory for a panel of judges. When I came to Rice, I joined their non-major orchestra, the Campanile, where I practiced and performed in the Shepard School of Music twice.
In addition to my orchestral career, I've gradually taught myself to play electrical bass and pursure a partial career in music. I play freelance gigs for RIce's Owl Pep Band, and regularly participate in Rice University musical events.
